Edmonton Resilience Festival - Earth Day Party

You may or may not have seen mentions of our involvement with the Edmonton Resilience Fest's Earth Day Party across our social media. All you really need to know is that it was fantastic, but if you're looking for a little more depth, well... you should look elsewhere. If you just want to read some nice words on a page about a cool event with some tasty local drinks, read on.

First off, I'd just like to say that the Edmonton Permaculture Guild and The Local Good put on a stellar party, and though I wasn't able to attend the festival earlier in the day, I heard nothing but praise from all the attendees I'd spoken to that night. From my perspective, the event looked to go off without a hitch, and the organizers were incredibly helpful in making sure the bar was set up and running smoothly, along with the volunteers they provided to help bartend. It was a tremendous atmosphere with amazing people and entertainment.

That's all well and good, but I know you're really here for the DRINKS! We had a delectable selection of locally produced fruit wines from the Birds & Bees Organic Winery and Meadery, and Yellowhead Brewing Co. had their flagship premium lager on offer. If you've never had Yellowhead's crystalline clean lager, stop reading this and go get some right now. If you're in Edmonton, it shouldn't be hard to find. Warmer weather's around the corner (it's there, I promise), and I'm almost certain this refreshingly crisp beer was made to be enjoyed whilst soaking in the sunshine flooding through Edmonton's River Valley.

Birds & Bees was also a great way to round out the selection with three of their "Naughty and Nice" fruit wines available. Their Little Flirt Rhubarb was the sweetest offering, making for a nice easy-drinking beverage with a hint of that unmistakable rhubarb character. Their Big Tease Raspberry had the big tart taste of raspberry front and center. If you, like me, are a fan of anything raspberry, this is a great way to get your fix. The real star was their Sassy Saskatoon Berry though, providing an absurdly well-rounded, semi-dry counterpoint to their lighter selections. The patrons must've agreed, because the bottles were (figuratively) flying off the bar.

On behalf of Mobile Bartending Services, I'd like to extend a big thank you to all the organizers who put on the festival and were such a pleasure to work with. I look forward to next years Resilience Fest!
